Temporary Workers
TOP TIPS FOR OUR TEMPS
We all like to work with friendly, willing and approachable people. If you can say this of your fellow workers, make sure they can also say it of you. If your fellow workers aren’t like this, it’s doubly important that you are, so that they’ll want to be like you. Remember, smiles are catching!
- If you find yourself at work with time on your hands, ask what else you can do.
- Be reliable and a good timekeeper.
- Keeping the employing company happy and more than satisfied with your work will benefit you by their either employing you for a longer period or by their provision of an excellent reference regarding your work.
- If you are unable to make it to work during an assignment, ensure an early contact with Smart Start Recruitment AND with the reporting manager at the company where temping.
Time sheets must be completed, signed and returned to Smart Start Recruitment Head Office, 1 Newbury Court, Gillingham, Dorset, SP8 4QX by 12 noon on the Monday following each week worked.
Smart Start Recruitment will let you know if there are any clothing requirements for the assignment (for example, steel-capped boots) but it is obviously your responsibility to remember to wear them in order to comply with Health & Safety law. If you have any queries regarding this, please contact us.
Any days you wish to take as holiday should be notified to Smart Start Recruitment with as much notice as possible. Smart Start Recruitment will check direct with the employing company, on your behalf, regarding dates.
There is a Temp of the Month (and Year) competition and by following the above you give yourself the best chance of being a winner.
Finally, don’t forget that every day you work as a temp for Smart Staff Recruitment you are representing us in the workplace. We hope you’ll feel proud to be one of our temporary staff and we look forward, at all times, to being proud of you.
