Local recruitment agency Smart Start Recruitment will soon be celebrating their third anniversary and will be marking it by opening a new office in Yeovil. Smart Start’s Sandra Smart explains...”an increasing number of our clients and candidates come from the Yeovil area and setting up a base there is a natural step for us given that there is a gap in the market for our type of agency and unique approach”.

“Our special brand of service was exemplified at the recent Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show where members of the Team were building awareness of the Smart Start brand by handing out free balloons and serving Pimms. I received a call from a harassed client who was desperate for more staff to help out at his pasty stall and within minutes two members of my team had swapped their gas cannisters and tea towels for catering hats and aprons!”

National Temporary Workers WeekOur week has got off to a flying start - we have been busy visiting our temps and presenting them and our clients with bottles of Bucks Fizz.  Temporary workers play a big part in helping businesses through the peaks of their business and can help during periods of sickness, annual leave and maternity cover.  Initiatives like National Temporary Workers Week is a great way to show our appreciation for all our temporary workers hard work.

Smart Start RecruitmentEVEN before this week’s official opening Sandra Smart and her daughter Katie, of Smart Start Recruitment in Gillingham, had already been dealing with inquiries from both clients and candidates eager to make use of what this new recruitment agency has to offer.

Sandra has more than 10 years experience in Human Resources and management roles, including work for a national recruitment agency while daughter Katie has more than three years experience in HR.

The pair are working hard to ensure that Smart Start Recruitment fills the gap in the market that exists for a truly personal service.

Sandra explains: “I opened my own business because I love what I do and do not want to be restricted in providing the exceptional level of customer service that I aspire to deliver. We are not into the “numbers game” and put quality above quantity.

“We want to build strong and open relationships with candidates, spending time on gauging ambitions, character and skills.

“We will be opening on Saturday mornings because we understand that weekdays are often too hectic for some candidates.”

At Smart Start Recruitment they pride themselves on a first class service, because they care.
